Itronix Rugged Laptops and Handhelds Approved for Claims Software

General Dynamics Itronix Rugged Mobile Computing

Itronix Corporation, a world-class developer of wireless, rugged mobile computing solutions, announced today that its award-winning GoBook® II wireless, rugged laptop has been certified by the insurance industry’s top three software providers, including ADP Claims Services Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Automatic Data Processing, Inc., CCC Information Services Inc., and Mitchell International Inc. With these industry certifications, the GoBook II has been tested and approved to operate with each provider’s respective estimating and collision repair software solutions. In addition to the GoBook II laptop, ADP also certified Itronix’s wireless, rugged GoBook Tablet PC.

“For insurance professionals who require a mobile computer that can withstand harsh environments, the Itronix GoBook II laptop and GoBook Tablet PC are very good choices - - they operate with both ADP’s PenPro® estimating software for insurance claims management and ADP’s easy-to-use Shoplink estimating software for the collision repair industry,” stated members of Technology Services for ADP’s Claims Services Group.

CCC is a leading supplier of advanced software, communications systems, Internet and wireless-enabled technology. The GoBook II received a high rating from CCC for its durability and interoperability with CCC Pathways® Collision Estimating software, an electronic estimate-writing tool for the automotive claims and collision-repair industries.

Mitchell International, a leading information technology provider to the insurance and collision repair industries, certified the GoBook II to operate with Mitchell’s UltraMate software, an advanced estimating system with proven technology that helps create estimates that are accurate, verifiable, and readily accepted throughout the industry.

“We were pleased with the performance of the GoBook II — in addition to being very rugged and fast, it runs Mitchell’s core applications without any modification,” said Adam Brannon, Hardware Engineer, Mitchell International. “In fact, I dropped the laptop four times from various angles with the unit on and open. It continued to work without any issue or problem and didn’t need to be restarted after each drop.”

Wireless, Rugged Durability — Designed for Insurance and Claims Professionals

Built to operate under extreme conditions and designed with integrated wireless features that support up to three wireless networks concurrently, including 802.11b (wireless LAN), Bluetooth, and wireless WAN technologies such as CDMA 1xRTT and GPRS, both the GoBook II laptop and the GoBook Tablet PC are ideally suited for mobile professionals in the insurance and collision repair industry — they are designed to support mission-critical activities, such as remote claims processing, on-site settlements and real-time wireless communications to the office.

All products are also certified as “drop-in” solutions over the nation’s largest wireless carriers’ networks, including AT& T Wireless and Sprint. Sprint recently announced plans to introduce the Sprint Mobile Claims Adjustor, a mobile solution that will allow insurance claims adjustors to process claims on-site using wireless handheld devices, such as Itronix. In addition, Itronix is an alliance partner of AT&T Wireless, winner of Laptop magazine Editors’ Choice for the EDGE Sony Ericsson GC82 PC card modem, which is working with five of the ten leading Insurance Property & Casualty carriers to improve their wireless claims process.

Like all Itronix rugged mobile computing devices, the GoBook II and GoBook Tablet PC, a uniquely designed, truly portable, wireless, rugged slate Tablet PC, are built to operate and withstand any situation a mobile workforce may encounter, including rain, snow, wind, dust, fire, shock, vibration, and chemical exposure.

In addition, the GoBook II and GoBook Tablet PC are the only wireless, rugged computing solutions that incorporates Itronix’s Common Radio Module Architecture (CRMA™), which enables users to easily and cost effectively upgrade to new wireless technologies as they become available.

“Securing hardware certifications from the insurance industry’s top three estimating software providers is a win/win for our insurance customers,” said Matthew Gerber, senior vice president of worldwide marketing and business development for Itronix. “Whether you’re an insurance claims appraiser, independent adjustor, or collision repair shop, Itronix, in partnership with either ADP, CCC or Mitchell, will provide you with a complete, wireless, rugged mobile computing solution that will dramatically enhance productivity and cut costs by enabling you to more efficiently operate under any condition and from any location.”
